What Is MobiFi (MoFi)?

Mobility is now redefined and empowered with MobiFi. Travel, investment, payment and more. The MobiFi story starts just after team SmartMob won the Dutch mobility hackathon  2019. The challenge of this event was to fill the gap between public transport and private car usage within the existing mobility infrastructure. In other words, how can combine driving and public transport to make travel more efficient? During your participation in the F10 Incubator and accelerator in Zurich, Switzerland.

The winning idea was to streamline the park & ride experience and consolidate other options (e.g., sharing scooter, tram, bus) into one app. Following the event, a few of the team took the idea further and investigated how blockchain technology might help solve urban mobility challenges. Fast forward a year, and MobiFi was born. They created MobiFi, a crypto-based payment and investment solution, a new financial tool for mobility.

After engaging with many end consumers and mobility service provider, they came to understand that mobility decisions are largely is irrational, and it’s difficult to change deeply ingrained habits. Various companies have tried different behavior change incentives, but for the most part, they stopped working once the incentives ceased. Thus are looking for a new way of coaxing users toward sustainability while also streamlining the transportation experience.

What Is MobiFi (MoFi)? Complete Guide Review About MobiFi.

MobiFi’s Mission

Cities are becoming bigger and more people enter them from the rural areas. However, in most places, there is no effective way for an average city-dweller to handle the buffet of transportation options at their disposal easily. It’s also a challenge in densely populated areas to navigate traffic, suffer parking shortages, deal with pollution, and the many negative impacts that are part and parcel with crowded mobility grids.

In pursuit of your vision, MobiFi has contracted the Things Protocol BV to develop your core product, marketing efforts and help run your services operations globally. MobiFi will deliver real value to users out of the gate and aims to help society move on a path toward a greener future. MobiFi has contracted Things Protocol BV to develop the core product, marketing, community and operate the services globally.

Transportation and its impact on the environment

The transport sector has been unable to cut emissions for more than three decades. In fact, transportation accounts for 23% of global greenhouse emissions, while cities generate 70% of the world’s CO2 emissions. There is no doubt, the industry is having a major impact on climate change globally. Consequently, there is an urgent need to shift from car ownership to more sustainable means of transportation such as ridesharing, electromobility, micro-mobility, public transit, and walking and cycling.

Main Driver of Urban Mobility Challenges

Travel choices are generally made under routine events, including motives, attitudes, norms, and habits. Under those circumstances, people frequently opt for their car as their main transport mode, often underestimating how much they will use it. Adding to the adverse effects on the environment, vehicles fuelled by diesel or petrol are also associated with health issues, such as an increase in cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, traffic injuries, and stress due to high levels of noise and traffic congestion within cities.

MobiFi solution is powered by blockchain technology which incorporates tokenized incentives. This allows to offer rewards for using your platform. They will put in place different incentives that will encourage commuters to use responsible travel modes such as traveling at off-peak hours or booking an e-bike, for example. This way, they intend to create a sustainable feedback loop that benefits the environment and society.

The Path To Changing People’s Behavior

MobiFi concepts have emerged to offer individualized one-stop access to several bundled travel services based on customers’ needs to tackle urban mobility challenges. However, since MaaS is in its early days, there is still room for improvement and development. There are four levels of MaaS functionality. Each level represents an increase in sophistication as companies expand their technological capabilities.

But while each level is attractive to end-users, MaaS providers struggle to achieve the right economic model. Each functionality level calls for a different business model, which has its limitations and hurdles. It’s only at level four where the full potential of MaaS will be realized and become truly economically viable.
