Loomia Ico Review – A device that transforms clothes into tools

About Loomia

In a world where personal data has become a precious commodity sold behind closed doors by large corporations, the Loomia TILE gives individuals the right to own their personal data, along with the freedom to choose how to share or sell it. In addition, the LOOMIA TILE’s unique ability to associate an individual’s physical identity, contained in their biometrics and habits, to their digital identity, contained in their online profiles and activities, presents an interesting starting point for a wide range of third party integrations. It makes it possible to build applications on LOOMIA technology to verify identity and facilitate secure payments passively and seamlessly, with no manual interaction or interface.

The Loomia TILE is a hardware device that transforms clothes into data-collecting and identity tools. It works in conjunction with the LOOMIA Electronic Layer (LEL), a soft flexible circuit embedded into textiles with the ability to sense changes in its environment, such as heat and touch. Users can transfer their data to a desktop application that allows them to manage and sell their data to market researchers. The app is completely server less and leverages the blockchain for security and data integrity.

The Game Change Team Behind Loomia

Loomia Ico Review - A device that transforms clothes into tools

A company Work

As designers and engineers ourselves, they’re passionate about making impactful works-like, looks-like prototypes that can scale. To do this, they spent years developing Loomia Lab program that efficiently produces prototypes for testing or demonstration. From our flat-rate LOOMIA Lab pricing to add-on services that allow you to streamline vendors, a company goal is to make your project a success. From user interface graphic design to PCB development, they provide the add-on services you need. Streamline your vendors by taking your project from idea to scale through the LOOMIA Lab and spend less time doing paperwork and searching for service providers.

Plan Your Next Product Innovation

Engineers and designers need the right materials and partnership to build the future. Loomia provides a turn-key service that customizes e-textile circuit technology to solve your engineering and design problems. If technology meets your mechanical needs, customize LOOMIA Electronic Layer to meet your specification. They offer full integration services in the lab, resulting in a works-like looks-like prototype that’s perfect for management reviews or testing.

Loomia X Analog Devices

Loomia worked with Analog Devices to create a motion-sensing shirt that could induction charge from a hanger. LOOMIA’s interconnects allowed motion sensors to be located at the back and on the arms of the wearer. This garment survived 50 Cycles of AATCC 135 Wash Testing.

For this project, LOOMIA provided the following services:

  • Full interconnect system to support 6 motion sensors and induction charging antenna
  • Garment design and construction
  • Textile Sourcing
  • Active debugging and testing
  • Guidance on PCB design for integration

Loomia X Hyundai

Loomia provided technology for a Hyundai concept car, shown in Korea at Hyundai HQ. LOOMIA’s LEL was used for both heating and HMI, to add new functionalities to the automotive interior. LOOMIA provided a full integration, selecting A-surface materials and connecting technology to one of the vehicle control units.

Services Provided:

  • Custom LEL Circuit Design for heating and user interface (buttons and light indication
  • Fabrication of custom LEL design, including connector to plug directly into the vehicle
  • Fabric sourcing for A-Surface
  • User interface iconography design and purchasing
