How Does It Work

The Drep Chain is a high-performance public chain fully developed by the team. It is compatible with Smart Contracts in EVM and WASM formats with a dual-layer structure consisting of a root chain and sub-chains. The Smart Pipeline proposed by the team is a “pipeline” for data transmission and for transferring data between the blockchain virtual machine and external applications. It is able to achieve high efficiency, zero gas consumption and strong scalability without affecting security. These needs are not met with Smart Contracts.

Drep has designed a decentralized ID system based on HMAC (Hash Message Authentication Code) algorithm, forming a dual-layer system of master ID and multiple sub-IDs to achieve data connectivity and privacy protection. The Client allows users to manage data and assets on centralized and decentralized platforms all in one place.

To provide long-term value of DID, features a reputation system consisting of a general reputation protocol, a reputation pipeline interface, a reputation data on-chain and algorithm library, a reputation incentive mechanism, a reputation account management, a fake account identification mechanism and more.

Multi-public-chain asset

To lower the threshold of technical usage and cost of learning, Drep has developed API, Plug-in and SDKs for a number of differing verticals. With these tool kits, DApp R&D teams are able to release multi-public-chain asset versions, built-in wallets and asset trading platforms with one-click. Based on ID, DApp R&D teams are also capable of acquiring more public chain users, transforming various digital asset holders into application users and creating Super DApps.

This code style is Service-oriented programming, similar to Java’s Spring container development. In most blockchain project codes, the coupling between the modules is more severe. Using this approach, allows the modules to be fully decoupled and the code can be easily refactored with clearer logic.

What is a full node?

The term ‘full node’ is short for ‘fully-validating node’ and refers to software that fully validates all transactions and blocks, as opposed to trusting a 3rd party. In addition to validating transactions and blocks, nearly all full nodes also participate in relaying transactions and blocks to other full nodes around the world, thus forming the peer-to-peer network that is the backbone of the cryptocurrency.

The full node distinction is important, since full nodes are not the only type of software participating in the Drep peer network. For instance, there are ‘lightweight nodes’ which rely on full nodes to serve the transactions, blocks, and cryptographic proofs they require to function, as well as relay their transactions to the rest of the global network.

As described in the previous section, the cryptocurrency relies on having a peer-to-peer network of nodes that fully validate all transactions and blocks and then relay them to other full nodes. Running a full node with contributes to the overall security of the network, increases the available paths for transactions and blocks to relay.

In terms of individual benefits, since drep fully validates every block and transaction, it provides the highest security and privacy possible when used in conjunction with a wallet that also supports directly connecting to it in full validation mode, such as wallet.
